Teaching / Student Work
Critical arts and design education for K-12 and higher education students.
I bring over a decade of experience designing, facilitating, and teaching a wide range of arts and design programming for students in grades K-12 and beyond. Specializing in visual arts classrooms, I’ve taught across Portland Public Schools and Walla Walla Public Schools, supporting young artists to find their skills and confidence across mediums and artistic disciplines. I’ve also taught as an artist-in-residence within Centennial School District in partnership with SUN Community Schools.
I also lead year-round workshops, courses, and programming for youth and young adults at organizations including Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC), Sexual/Gender Minority Youth Center (SMYRC), My Voice Music, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette’s Teen Council, Portland State University’s Queer Resource Center, Saturday Academy, and OMSI’s Teen Tech Center.
I also teach as a guest educator for undergraduate and graduate students. I’ve taught for institutions including Whitman College, Iowa State University, University of Southern California, and Dominican University.
Some courses, workshops, and classes I’ve designed and taught include:
Design Pedagogy (Design 540), Blue Sky Center and USC Roski School of Art and Design MFA Program
