I Made This For You: Papercut Valentine Workshop to Benefit Maryam and Her Family

  • Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) 318 Southeast Main Street Portland, OR, 97214 United States (map)

Learn how to create your own papercut valentines in this 2-hour, all-ages workshop at the IPRC!

Make colorful illustrations with construction paper while celebrating love and practicing material solidarity! Simplified papercut craft options will be available for younger children. 100% of $ from registration will go to 20-year old student Maryam AbuIbaid, her two sisters, and her mother in Gaza. Though the ceasefire has gone into effect, Maryam's family still needs our urgent support to rebuild their lives and access critical medical care.

Instructor: Rimona Eskayo

Class Capacity: 18

Cost: $25-50 sliding scale, $5-15 for kids

Registration is required. Kids must be registered with an adult.

Covid Safer Policy: This event is in-person; Masks Required.

Sensory Note: for anyone experiencing audio or visual sensitivity, please note that the IPRC is situated under a skatepark, which creates occasional disruptive background noise, and the lighting in the studio and classroom space is primarily fluorescent. We do have ear plugs available for members.

Can't make it but still want to support Maryam and sponsor a free spot for someone? Venmo @Rimo-Skyo with the cost of a ticket! All donation receipts will be posted in the day following the workshop.
